Blast Valves & Dampers

Explore our range of blast valves and dampers, overpressure & differential pressure valves, gas-tight & special ventilation valves for protected spaces

Atmas presents a wide selection of blast valves and overpressure valve for ventilation and air filtration systems of civil defence shelters, safe rooms, industrial applications and other types of protective structures which require protection of ventilation ways and internal space from blast wave pressure coming from outside.

Blast & Special Ventilation Valves

Blast Valves, Overpressure & Differential Pressure Valves, Gas-tight & Special Ventilation Valves for Protected Spaces

Our professional, tested, and certified valves are installed in thousands of facilities to protect people and equipment. The valves are approved by various civil defence authorities and certified according to most modern standards.

The valves we offer can be used in new construction or retrofitted in existing (modernization) projects.

Our Range of Protective and Airflow Regulations Valves for Ventilation Systems in Shelters & Bunkers

BVNO – Blast Valves

BVNO Automatic action, normally open valves for installation on ventilation openings for protection of internal spaces against destructive blast wave effects.

Blast valves are normally open valves which allow movement of air in regular operation and provide automatic closing action in case of incoming blast wave. The valves are designed for installation on ventilation openings or as part of the duct for protection of ventilation ways and internal spaces against destructive blast wave effects.

  • BVNO series of blast valves was developed by Arconik for use in civil defence shelters, bunkers, safe rooms and other protected spaces.
  • BVNO are automatic double action valves designed to protect from positive and negative phases of the blast.
  • The valves are extremely durable and can withstand a wide range of temperatures and resistant to corrosion.
  • Simple Installation in new structures with pre-installed wall sleeves or retrofit flanges.
  • The valves can be equipped with pre-filter for removing dust particles, special case with flanges or connectors to the duct.

BVNC – Overpressure Blast Valves

BVNC overpressure blast valves are normally closed valves, designed to control the overpressure level in the gastight shelter and between compartments like airlocks and more.

BVNC overpressure valves – normally closed valves designed to maintain or control the differential pressure level in the shelter by releasing the air from the gastight shelter while offering providing protection from external blast wave pressure.

  • BVNC overpressure valves were developed for use in civil defence shelters, bunkers, safe rooms and other protected spaces.
  • BVNC line of valves includes a wide range of valves for different airflows.
  • BVNC are automatic action valves designed to protect from external blast wave pressure.
  • BVNC designed for controlled release of air from the shelter when positive pressure (overpressure) rises to required level.
  • The valves are extremely durable and can operate in a wide range of temperatures and resistant to corrosion.
  • The valves are designed for installation on ventilation openings or as part of the duct.

PRV Differential Pressure Regulation Valves

PRV valves are designed to regulate constant pressure differences between connected rooms like airlocks or internal shelter compartment. They ensure balanced airflow and maintain preset overpressure levels in the two compartment, making them essential for environments with controlled ventilation systems.

Key Features:

  • Professional solution for airlocks
  • Compact design for easy integration into ventilation systems.
  • Corrosion-resistant materials for long-term durability.

Applications:
Perfect for cleanrooms, pharmaceutical labs, CBRN shelters, and controlled environment facilities.

Blast Dampers

Blast dampers are used in ventilation systems to prevent the blast wave through external walls into the building. They are designed with high ventilation capacity.

Blast dampers are used in ventilation systems to prevent the blast wave through external walls into the building. They are designed with high ventilation capacity. The dampers can protect people and equipment from explosions or momentary pressure change (e.g. tornadoes, etc.). When an explosion occurs, the valve will close instantly under the action of the shock wave; when the shock wave disappears, the valve will be automatically restored. They are mainly used in refineries, oil & gas, nuclear power plants and some other facilities which are at risk of explosions. They are installed on the air openings (air inlet and air outlet) of the facilities.

GK – Gastight Valves / Shut-off Valves

GK gas-tight valves are designed for installation on entrance or as part of the ventilation ducts to isolate areas from hazardous gases during emergencies.

GK gastight valves are flow regulation valves designed for installation on the air ducts of ventilation systems of shelters and protective structures. The valves are commonly used as shut-off devices to stop or control the airflow and protect the inner space.

Advantages

  • GK gastight shut-off valves have special design with double eccentric axle.
  • GK valves can be delivered with manual and motorized drive.
  • The valves are designed to hold a high static pressure loads and can be used in ventilation systems of shelters and protected facilities.
  • The valves have a welded steel body or optionally can be made from stainless steel for very corrosive environments.
  • The valve can be installed at any direction on the air duct.
  • Minimal effort to operate the valve;
  • When opening / closing, there is no friction of the sealing ring on the seat;
  • Long service life of the sealing elements;
  • Replacing the seal is a simple procedure that does not require special tools;
  • Continuous sealing surface (360 degrees) provides the highest class of tightness.

Wall Sleeves & Retrofit Flanges

Wall sleeves are intended to be casted in shelter concrete walls, creating open passage and designed for connection of the blast valves, overpressure valves, gas tight valves, air duct, cable gas tight passages and more.

Wall sleeves are specially designed pipes with flanges which can be used to install valves or ducting to the walls. Arconik supplies variety of sleeves specially designed as per applications (internal walls/external walls) and approved as per different standards ranging from 4″ diameter to 32” diameter accommodating different thicknesses of walls. The wall sleeves are commonly installed at the early stage of rebaring and the concrete is casted on to make them a rigid and strong part of the wall.

Overview:
Wall Sleeves with Flange for cast-in-place concrete are available in 4″, 6″/8″, and 14″ sizes, using 4 to 12 bolts (M16 or M20) and designed for 300 mm+ wall thickness, with optional splinter plates. Retrofit Flanges are offered in 4″ and 8″ sizes for installation on existing walls, using 4 or 8 bolts. A chemical-resistant gasket is also available, compatible with 4- or 8-bolt flange configurations, to ensure a secure and watertight seal.
